Letter from Huntsman Cancer Institute19th March 2007
Dear Patricia and Chris, Dr. Lessnick has sent me the letter that I’ve attached to this e-mail. I asked him if we could forward it to you so we too could add our sincerest thanks for the help you, through your fund raising efforts for Team Sarcoma 2006, have given to support his two research studies. Let’s hope that some of his results are stepping stones to the early detection and diagnosis of Ewing’s sarcoma and to ultimately finding a cure for the disease. Wishing you the best of health and friendship throughout the New Year, Bruce and Bev
December 29, 2006 Dear Mr. and Mrs. Smith, I am writing to express my sincere gratitude for providing funding for our research projects on Ewing’s sarcoma via The Liddy Shriver Sarcoma Initiative. I know that funding projects such as these really represents a collaboration between our lab, the patients, and their families. Indeed, I am extremely gratified and humbled to have heard about your willingness to support our efforts. I am very hopeful that your support will allow us to move this field forward in a practical way. While science for science’s sake is important, I feel that the most important thing that we (as researchers) can do is to keep our ultimate goals in mind. Our lab’s ultimate goal is to improve the care of patients with sarcoma. I want to assure you that these grants will be used for that purpose. I look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with you, and the other donors, as we strive to achieve our ultimate goal. Best wishes, and happy holidays! Sincerely, Stephen Lessnick
